Update

I've had a weird couple of weeks. Just busy, yet I have nothing to show for it??

In other news, today could be the first day I make it without napping! I've been feeling good lately, but have always had lack of sleep for one reason or another, but I got lots of sleep this weekend and I'm feeling good today! YAY!

Junior's doing well, thanks for asking. We get to dog sit this weekend for Bailey. He's excited. Today he chased birds for a straight ten minutes. He probably sprinted a mile and a half. Last week he went running with me for a couple miles. He's getting a lot of exercise in. But to him its never enough.

I had a mini melt down triathlon-related last week and just couldn't do ANYTHING. I wrote a rambling email to coach and she said take a few days off. So I did. I'm feeling better this week and already had a great swim this morning! It will be a much better week this week.

I'm currently making meatloaf...that's exciting.

I just made a spinach salad and its delicious. I find it very entertaining that Junior likes spinach leaves. I ask him "do you want a leaf?" and he jumps up for it and eats it! It's great. He gets his iron that way.

I'm pretty boring right now, so that's all I got.

Puppy Play

We all know how much I love my dog, right?

Well, today I loved him a little less than usual.

I've had a solid chunk of the afternoon off, and prior to my bike workout, I decided to take Junior out and let him play. I took his favorite flimsy frisbee out so we could toss it. Or, as Junior likes to think of "toss", Robyn throws the frisbee and Junior runs around the field with it while I chase him to get it back.

This is what it looks like:
Had I remembered that it rained the last 3 days, I would have definitely rethought the whole playing in the field idea.
I threw it once, and of course Junior took off with it. He found the BIGGEST puddle in the field (which to him was a small lake) and played his favorite game: Sink the frisbee in the middle of the field and stick your head in the puddle to get it.
This is NOT my favorite game.
Half the time, he either leaves the frisbee at the bottom of the puddle or just can't get it because the water is too deep. I'm a loving puppy mommy and all, but I am NOT going in after it. We usually wait about 2 days until the water dries up and then retrieve the frisbee. Today he was all about sinking the frisbee and shoving his head into the cold, smelly water to get it. In fact, it was a little funny watching him frolic through the water.
Finally, he either got cold or bored and made his way out of the water. I was trying to stalk him to get him back under my control (with little luck) when all the sudden, I found LAST year's frisbee! You see, I bought him a frisbee for the last 2 Christmas's. This year, it was to replace last year's that we had lost in the field. And by "lost in the field", I mean Junior sunk it in a puddle and didn't want to get it. We must have forgotten to go back and look for it.
I picked up last year's frisbee and it looked like it had been run over by a lawnmower at least three times, and I'm thinking it probably had. This was the only way I got Junior back because he was all about last year's frisbee.
So now the issue is, I don't want to give Junior a bath because he's getting groomed tomorrow. What a waste of time. So I'm going to have to deal with a smelly, more poodle-looking than usual dog (because of his curls).
Oh well, at least someone had fun.

Things I think of on a run

Last night I ran. Literally, it was dark. Maybe not the best idea I've ever have, considering I do live in Memphis. But I did. And I survived. So here are some random thoughts from my run:

-It is very peaceful to run at night.
-I hope I don't get mugged.
-This new sports bra is kind of tight.
-At least my ta-ta's aren't bouncing everywhere.
-I can't see my freakin' Garmin unless I keep pressing the start button so my light turns on.
-I think I should have done this run earlier in the week like it was scheduled.
-I can't wait to put my compression socks on.
-LOW BRANCH!
-I feel fast, but am slow.
-The weather isn't too bad.
-Yay! Time to turn around.
-Ok, apparently I had a tailwind before because now I'm freezing.
-Am I done yet?
-I feel pretty good still, though I'm still going slow.
-That smells...I hope I didn't step in whatever died back there.
-I can't wait to eat.
-Oh! I love this song.
-I wonder what Junior is doing.
-Almost there...it's getting colder!
-*(%!#@ It's raining!
-Get me home now!
-Yeah thanks dude who just stared at me in the car...I am crazy.
-So...close...yet...so...far.........away.
-Well, while I'm up here might as well get the mail.
-SHITE its raining harder now.
-And my cooldown just turned into a sprint to get to my building!!!
-Done...and done.

And that's how a 5 mile run goes.

I heart my Puppy

Doesn't it kinda look like he just fell over?

Good news! Today was the first day I took a nap since my return to Memphis. That may sound impressive, but it's only been 5 days. However, that IS pretty impressive for myself.

Also, training has been consistent since returning also (minus new years eve). Again, pretty good for me thus far. Things are looking up in that department.

Now if work would just pick up a bit so I actually have a paycheck, that would be spectacular. Although, all the free time is really awesome. Maybe one day I'll get caught up on laundry. Probably not though, and it'll be the next time my mom comes in town and does it again (hint hint Mommy).
